Is Your Water Even Safe to Drink?
 
More than 240 million Americans use water from contaminated public water systems every day, according to the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC).  The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that almost 1 million people in America fall ill annually from water contaminated with harmful microorganisms and about 900 die from drinking contaminated water.

According to Environmental Working Group, since 2004, testing by water utilities has found 315 pollutants in the tap water Americans drink, according to an Environmental Working Group (EWG) drinking water quality analysis of almost 20 million records obtained from state water officials.

More than half of the chemicals detected are not subject to health or safety regulations and can legally be present in any amount. The federal government does have health guidelines for others, but 49 of these contaminants have been found in one place or another at levels above those guidelines, polluting the tap water for 53.6 million Americans. The government has not set a single new drinking water standard since 2001.

Physicians for Social Responsibility reports that over 75,000 toxic synthetic and chemical compounds can be identified in this country's water sources, though only a fraction of them are targeted for regulation. 

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently documented approximately 83,000 violations of water quality standards by municipal water systems, featuring over 21,000 contaminants, organic and inorganic, over the past 30 years, almost 200 of them already proven to be linked with adverse health effects.

This doesn't even take into account the known chemicals of chlorine and fluoride that is put into the water on purpose that have serious adverse health affects.

"Most people never give it a thought. After all, our elected public officials keep assuring us that chlorinated city tap water is completely safe for human consumption. Numerous scientific studies report that chlorinated tap water is a skin irritant and can be associated with rashes like eczema.

Chlorinated water can destroy polyunsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E in the body while generating toxins capable of free radical damage (oxidation). This might explain why supplementation of the diet with essential fatty acids like flax seed oil, evening primrose oil, borage oil and antioxidants like vitamin E, selenium and others helps so many cases of eczema and dry skin.

Chlorinated water destroys much of the intestinal flora, the friendly bacteria that help in the digestion of food and which protects the body from harmful pathogens. These bacteria are also responsible for the manufacture of several important vitamins like vitamin B12 and vitamin K. It is not uncommon for chronic skin conditions like acne, psoriasis, seborrhea and eczema to clear up or to be significantly improved by switching to unchlorinated drinking water and supplementing the diet with lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidus.

Chlorinated water contains chemical compounds called trihalomethanes which are carcinogens resulting from the combination of chlorine with compounds in water. These chemicals, also known as organochlorides, do not degrade very well and are generally stored in the fatty tissues of the body (breast, other fatty areas, mother's milk, blood and semen). Organochlorides can cause mutations by altering DNA, suppress immune system function and interfere with the natural controls of cell growth.

Chlorine has been documented to aggravate asthma, especially in those children who make use of chlorinated swimming pools. Several studies also link chlorine and chlorinated by-products to a greater incidence of bladder, breast and bowel cancer as well as malignant melanoma. One study even links the use of chlorinated tap water to congenital cardiac anomalies.

Anything you can do to filter tap and shower water that eliminates or even minimizes chlorine would certainly be helpful and possibly curative for some immune system problems."

Is Bottled Water Any Safer Than Tap Water?
 
 
Unlike tap water, where consumers are provided with test results every year, the bottled water industry is not required to disclose the results of any contaminant testing that it conducts.  A four year study done by the NRDC found that of 103 brands of bottle water tested, one third contained levels of contamination.  103 bottles is a pretty extensive list of bottled water!  In any grocery store you would hardly see even 20 different brands. 

This pretty much means your particular brand of bottled water that you drink could possibly be contaminated!

Environment Working Group did lab tests on 10 different kinds of bottled water.  The study's lab tests on 10 brands of bottled water detected 38 chemicals including bacteria, caffeine, pharmaceutical prescription drugs, fertilizer, solvents, plastic-making chemicals and the radioactive element strontium.

"In some cases, it appears bottled water is no less polluted than tap water and, at 1,900 times the cost, consumers should expect better," said Jane Houlihan, an environmental engineer who co-authored the study.

The NRDC found the contents of one bottle, labeled "Spring Water," actually came from an industrial parking lot next to a hazardous waste site!  Imagine that...

 

Is Your Water Making You Sick and Tired... and FAT?
 
As wonderful as clean pure alkaline water is for you and your health the wrong kind of water can actually make you sick and tired....and fat.  What??? Fat???  Yes!  Your water, like just about everything else you take in, must be electron rich and alkaline.  Pretty much all tap and most bottled water available for drinking is acidic, and this in turn will make your body acidic and when your body is acidic it creates fat to bind the acid to keep the acid from eating through your tissues and vital organs and arteries. 
 
With acidic water you're never going to reach your ideal weight or ideal state of health.  To be truly healthful your water must also be alkaline.  When you drink acidic water your body has to pull its reserves of alkaline substances just to neutralize the water that should be neutral in the first place.
 
Drinking alkaline water washes away acids and wastes, helping your body to stay alkaline.  By providing alkaline water to neutralize and remove acidic waste from the tissues, you stop the body from taking alkaline substances away from other body parts like calcium from your teeth and bones, magnesium from your muscles and sodium and potassium from your sodium potassium pump and the cell can let go of the fat it was using to bind the acid to protect itself.
 
Most all tap water is acidic....in the 5.8 to 6.0 range.  Ideally you should be drinking around 9.5 pH to flush out acidic waste buildup in the body.  Remember it takes 20 parts of alkaline to neutralize just 1 part acid so drinking acidic water just compounds the problem.

 
Is Your Water Aging You?
 

You've heard of antioxidants haven't you?  Anti meaning negative value ( - )  Oxidant is a molecule that has one electron missing, causing it to be unstable.  It is also called and free radical.  A free radical is corrosive.  Like a bad guy, it goes around vandalizing and causing cellular damages in the body resulting in toxic effects.

These free radicals if left roaming rampant in the body without control, will result in cell deterioration and destruction, and ultimately resulting in all kinds of diseases.  Some of the diseases which are the direct result of this enemy are, strokes, arterial inflammation, arthritis, macular degeneration, Alzheimer's, and many more.  The cancer-causing free radicals are called carcinogenic.

Our entire being, every cell in our body, needs oxygen to help release energy from the food we eat.  Whether it be from proteins, carbohydrates or fats.  In the process, it creates a byproduct called "oxidation".

While oxygen is essential to life itself, oxidation is the "dark side" of oxygen that most people don't know about.  Oxygen is chemically reactive and under normal biochemical reactions, can become unstable.  It oxidizes neighboring molecules, causing them to be unstable.

This is the same process that causes iron to rust or a cut apple to turn brown, just by its mere exposure to oxygen.  In the same manner, oxygen can cause "rusting" in our body which is the root cause of many degenerative diseases. 

If oxidation can rust on such a strong material like iron, just imagine what harm it does to our vulnerable body.  But thank God, there is provision to counteract this corrosion...anti-oxidants!

Anti-oxidants are molecules that have several electrons that can be easily detached without being unstable.  It donates an electron to the free radical that has one electron missing, thus neutralizing it and rendering it harmless.

The body can produce its own anti-oxidants.  However, if the body is being constantly attacked by free radicals faster than the natural production of anti-oxidants, destruction sets in.

To aid our body in keeping its "anti-oxidant tank" full, so that we can easily counteract oxidation, we can supply our body with foods that are rich in anti-oxidants....but not only foods...your water should also be anti-oxidant rich too!

When it comes to measuring the oxidation levels of your water anything higher than zero oxidation reduction potential, more commonly called ORP, is oxidizing and aging.  Anything with a negative (anti) oxidation reduction potential (ORP) is an anti-oxidant and reverses aging.  It's that simple!

What Is Kangen Water?


Kangen water is the most powerful water in existence created from Enagic's truly progressive water technology. Kangen Water is first purified, then given an electrical charge to recreate electron rich water.  It's molecular formula shifts from H2O to H+ OH-   In plain old English.... It's now living water again.

The ionizing unit, about 12" high, 11" wide, and 7" deep, is an electrical appliance connected to your kitchen water supply to perform electrolysis on tap water before you drink it or use it in the kitchen for cooking or cleaning.

A special attachment redirects tap water out of the faucet through a plastic hose into the unit. Inside the unit, the water is first filtered through activated charcoal. Next, the filtered water passes into an electrolysis chamber equipped with 7 platinum-coated electrode plates (the most electrode plates of any non-commercial unit - and you will see the importance of that later) where electrolysis takes place.

Cations, positive ions, gather at the negative electrodes to create cathodic water (reduced water). Anions, negatively charged ions gather at the positive electrode to make anodic water (oxidized water).

Through electrolysis, reduced water not only gains an excess amount of electrons (e-), but the cluster of H20 are reduced in size form about 10 to 13 molecules per cluster to 5 to 6 molecules per cluster.

What the Ionization Unit Produces - Oxidation Reduction Potential Comparison:

After electrolysis of the water inside the unit, restructured alkaline water comes out of the cathodic side and oxidized acidic water comes out of the anodic side. Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP) is even more crucial than PH!

Traditionally we have judged the properties of water from the standpoint of pH, in other words whether water is acidic or alkaline. According to Dr.Yoshiaki Matsuo Ph.D., the inventor of the ionizing unit, "in my opinion, oxidation reduction potential is more important than pH".

The pH of tap water should be at a pH of 7 (neutral), unfortunately though most municipal tap water not only has abundant contamination, it's pH range is between 5.8 - 6.0 (acidic) and is highly oxidizing (a + ORP which is aging). When tap water is run through the Kangen machine it is first filtered with a 3 layer carbon filter, removing impurities yet leaving the minerals in tact, then it is electrolyzed in the unit, resulting in restructured water (smaller water clusters resulting in better hydration) with a pH of 8.5 to 9.5, depending on what pH setting you select, and has a high - ORP which is anti-aging
